First off, anything entitled 'renegade' conjures crazy images in my head, add that to 'crafts' and 'McCarren Park' and in my mind there are Williamsburg-hipster-rebels hiding behind trees weaving baskets. In reality though, the 4th annual Renegade Craft Fair is a two day event, featuring over 200 artists who will be showing off their wares! Popshop DJ Squad will be playing tunes throughout the weekend, and tasty treats will be provided by: Lefty's Silver Cart, The Treats Truck, Wheeler's Frozen Desserts, Fizzy Lizzy, 1 Bite 7 Days and Mr. Softy.

Water Fight!!!
FreeNYC Event Flyer
Date: Saturday, June 14th
Time: 2:30pm
Location: Central Park, Great Lawn
Cost: Free
The environmentally conscious part of me says that maybe a giant water fight in the middle of Central Park is a waste of precious natural resources. However, the 10 year old, silly little girl part of me thinks that a water fight on a hot summer day in the middle of Central Park, is like the best idea ever! To be honest, I am not sure who is organizing this event, it seems to be circulating on the internet via this facebook event posting but it seems like a lot of people are into it. Participants are encouraged to bring buckets, water guns, water balloons, and just about anything else you can fill with water. Afterwards dry off and head over to Summerstage!

One of the best things about summer in New York City is Central Park's Summerstage. Their opening weekend starts the summer out right, with performances this afternoon from New York Foursome Vampire Weekend, Canadian indie rock trio Born Ruffians and the first artist signed to A-Trak's own label, plus one of my recent faves, Kid Sister!
