Easter Sunday, dimsum with my gurl parent and spend a day in the city...

posted Friday, 28 March 2008
Easter Sunday, don't be late for dimsum with my gurl parent at golden unicorn on east broadway and cathrine street...

I got up a bit early to get ready for the easter sunday event, and it was going to be a long day since we have packed the day with alot of event from brunch to lunch to dinner and more... going to see every one from meber of meetup.com to family member to spending a romantic day out with my gurl and celebration of our one month together...

Dimsum was at 11am at golden unicorn and I have to dress my best and clean shaven and smell good and look like I was running for the next top model show.

And I had to make a pit stop at hong kong supermarket and stock up on some goodies for her parent as it tradition when you meet new people or visit some one house too. Normal it like a bag of oranges and apple or some type of fruit or flower are good. I picked up a box of chinese egg roll cookie, really good stuff, and pockey for my gurl since it easter. I got one box of chinese egg roll cookie, a large box of rock candie, 6 large red oranges and 5 tangrines. I did not want to get too much as it would be hard for them to carry as it weight a ton. I skipped out on the pound cake as I know it would be like carrying around a 45 pound of grocery for them.

I jumped on van service to flushing chinatown to manhattan chinatown about 10am and got into the city about 1030am, I was damn they drove fast, I got into the city in 20 minute and ran from division to bayard to pick up lasted minute stuff for my gurl and her parent.

I repacked every thing to make the bag easy to carry and weight the same so at least it did not feel like 60 pound her and 20 pound there, you get my drift.

I keep getting calls from my gurl saying like, hey where here in the lobby where are you, I was I been there on time as I will be. I never late unless there traffic or i am stuck underground to train not moving or track work that causes me to find some other way to get to my location. I showed up about 1045am and walked into the lobby and did not see my gurl or her parent. So flipped out my cell phone called and got voice mail and left a message,( hello my sweet sugar, I am here in the lobby and see you no where in site. ) I wait a couple of minute and I get a call back from my gurl and she like, honey where are you we are in the lobby and I look around and I still do not see my gurl and the funny part is she stand like 6 feet away from me and we both tlaking on the found as we can not see each other.

I greeted her parent in trational fashion by announcing them in sur chinese name. Miss blank and Mr blank, it was a pleasure meeting you and I already asked the lady do they have a table for us and we can head right on up by taking the elevator up. I let them all enter the elevator first and is tradition to let the older generation go first before the young one get on.

I get a table and I spoke in cantonese 99percent of the whole time, because that what they spoke. And it better in conversation and it better to keep it simple and since we chinese we might as well speak it if you know it. We talk about where i come form and my background infomation and my parent and where they come from and village into and every thing you expect parent to question the boyfiriend that going out with there daughter. They want to know if you the type of guy that going to do the right thing in a relationship and not take advanatage of the gurl. I understood there parent questin and where this dimsum was going. I understand the tradition and I understand her parent wishes. I had a great time at the dimsum, I did the gentleman thing, pour tea for the parent, order food, make sure they are taken care of as if they where my parents. I did what any son would do for a parent. Care for them, show them I am a grown adult, make sure all there need are answered. I did every thing I do if they are like my parent that need help. Of course I faught for the check too. It tradition if you want to win some one parent or family for.

We talk about every thing from childhood, to high school to college to where you come from. I spoke in depth with her dad about assication in chinatown and which family name do you belong too. I know of which one her dad belong too and he know which on my family belong too. My gurl belong to the (Chin Family Association Inc) in chinatown and my family belong to (Tai Pun Yook Ying Association) that on east broadway by the hongkong supermarket in manhattan. I had a great time chatting and chewing with my gurl parent. i got a chance to see where they coming from and where they going. I understood what they trying to explain to me about tradition. Tradition and face value is a big thing when it come to family name. It almost like harry potter, which house do you belong in. Like some house are better then other house but you choose who should be the best. My gurl come from a big and powerful family name and common too.

After dimsum we split form the parent, I paid for the check and was I hope to see next time for dinner, we can do dinner out and I know a place that serve great crabs and seafood, It will be my treat next time...I wait and watch has her parent got lost in the crowd. I felt bad they had to carry the grocery and goodie I got them because it was 2 xlarge bag od goodness i got them. Next time I stop by and drop off the goodies instead of them carry it around. When your as old as my parent you dont want to carry a 75bls of rice around...

So i check the day schedule we could either do easter parade on 5th avenue and 54th street or do central park or do winter garden since it was a bit breezy and cold out, the sun was out but not powerful to heat up the area around us. So was I carried our easter goodie bags to head to central for a day of romatic lover do on easter sunday.

And since I had a camera I take pop shot of my gurl and I. We took the 6th train to 77 street and enter the park around 2pm and was lke ok we got 3 hour to kill till dinner with our cantonese meetup group for hot pot dinner in lower east side, aka chinatown. We where by the alice and wonderland section of the park and notice we not close to where we wanted to go was the 3 garden center at happen to be at 102nd street that harlem side of the park. So I was like we can walk up there but have no time to make it too hot pot or we can walk some where else. We decided to head up too jphn lennon section and end up by the castle. My gurl never been to the castle and I was like no way, it cant be, so we took picture at the castle and walked up to view manhattan sky line. I took picture of my gurl and picture of her wearing my leather coat. And she look as lovely as ever. I hold her in my arm and cuddle and kissed her at the castle.

After that t was time to head back down to mid town as I thought we can go shopping and see what on sale for easter. We took the train downtown and headed to 34th street the capital of shopping. But most of the shop where closed so we headed over to k-town they never closed they open 24-7 and they never shut down for any holiday. we window shopping and was I was walking I saw some one i knew from iceculinary.com and I greeted her and introduce her to my gurl and she was out with her family. it was Gero aka GD might hvae to look at other thread to figure who I was talking about. But it was like a blast from the pass. We check each other out and to make sure we both had the same cell number and she like we should get together and go out drink. Drink me, never, igiven that up but then again it never hurt to try again... what a few drink among good friends.

We walked down to 23rd street and took the N train down to ctown and thought we stop by the hot pot restaurant that on mott street off hester street. I notice it was me and my gurl only so they let us sit down and rest and wait for the rest of the crew to show up. So about 1/2 nd hour past and every one started to trickle in slowly, we saw sunnydog, annie, lu, and a bunch of new faces and new people and we mingle and chatted up a storm and it was good as I held my gurl hand... annie was cute and funny and she knew me and my gurl where a item... and I think it too V awhile to figure us out but hey it was not like I was going to come out and say hello this is my gurl..it only been a month and we still dating...

hot pot was not what I expected, it not worth 10 buck to east veggie and steakem thin slices of meat in hot boiling water of the waiter can't even get the order correctly to begin with. Your better off doing hot pot at home at least you know the food worth the wait if your cookin at home then a place they say they are the best when they are not.

Not worth the money to eat here ( Dining Room Management Group Inc 102 Mott St between Canal St & Hester St New York, NY 10013 ) crappy service and crappy food...

so annie the cute gurl sitting behind me tap me on the shoulder and was like you up for a drink, dessert some thing like a pizza, real food and I was like sure love too. She was trying to break out and was like we all out of here and V the organizer like what your not inviting me, and I was like gurl dinner over I out of here, I did not come out on easter to spend the entired night hanging out and talking about your problem, i here because i celebrating one one month with my gurlfriend. Thing sorta got ugly but it all worked out.

I spent one easter with the special person i so luv spending time with, we had dessert at the famous italian place on grand street, she had the italian dessert i had the rasberry white chocolate cake and we both spoon feed each other and it was like a romantic end of the night. I kissed my gurl and say happy anniversary swetie.. we hold hands on the way home... it was the night to remember and it was every lasting too...

It was as you could say long and magical night but it was some thing I can think back and say i enjoyed every moment spending with her.....

Wo ai ni...my gurl
